Q. What is Go Blue for Autism?
A. April is Autism Awareness Month. On World Autism Awareness Day, April 2, iconic buildings across Australia and the world will turn their lights blue for the entire month of April to promote Autism awareness.
To support this global initiative, we’re asking people to Go Blue for Autism during the month of April to help raise awareness and funds to support people living with Autism and their families.
Q. What about Dress Differently Day?
A. Dress Differently Day was restricted to Queensland. Autism is a globally significant condition and around the world iconic buildings will turn their lights blue for the entire month of April to promote Autism awareness.
Autism Queensland supports this global initiative and encourages supporters who previously dressed differently in support of Autism Queensland to continue their support and to dress blue on your chosen day.
Q. How do I get involved?
A. You can get involved in Go Blue for Autism by:
- Hosting a Go Blue for Autism day on your chosen day
- Dress in blue, wear a blue wig, decorate your school, club or business in blue and collect a gold coin donation from each participant;
- Bake blue cupcakes and donate the proceeds to Autism Queensland;
- Simply choose a day for your event and register your interest;
- Purchasing Go Blue for Autism merchandise;
- Displaying posters and selling Go Blue for Autism merchandise at your school, club or business to raise funds and increase Autism awareness;
- Making a donation to Autism Queensland

Q. How do I register?
A. There are four different ways to register for Go Blue for Autism – online, email, fax or post.
- Register at www.autismqld.com.au/goblueforautism/registration
- Complete the registration form and email us at enquiries@autismqld.com.au
- Fax the completed registration form to (07) 3273 8306
- Post the completed registration form to PO Box 354, Sunnybank, QLD, 4109
Q. Do I have to purchase the items first if I have registered to sell Go Blue for Autism merchandise?
A. No. Schools, businesses and community groups will be supplied with Go Blue for Autism merchandise to sell on consignment. (Approval conditions apply).
Schools, businesses and community groups that have registered to sell Go Blue for Autism merchandise will receive details of Autism Queensland’s bank account in which to deposit funds. Any unsold merchandise can be returned to PO Box 354 Sunnybank QLD 4109 or dropped into one of our offices. Return of any unsold merchandise will be at the cost of the school, business or community group.
Individuals can purchase Go Blue for Autism merchandise from Autism Queensland’s online shop.
Q. What if April does not suit me?
A. No problems! Find a more suitable date and make that your Go Blue for Autism day. The same guidelines apply for any other dates.
Q. I have already sent my registration form but I would like to order merchandise. What do I do?
A. Fill out the Merchandise Order part of the Registration Form.
Q. I have already registered to participate in Go Blue for Autism. What happens now?
A. Every school/office/business/ community group hosting a Go Blue for Autism day will receive an official Go Blue for Autism event poster. This is for you to display so everyone can see that you are supporting Autism Queensland help make a difference. If you have ordered merchandise, this will be sent out with the poster.
Q. When can I start selling merchandise?
A. We recommend you start selling the merchandise as soon as you receive it. Remember, April is Autism Awareness Month and we want to reach as many people as possible.
Q. What happens if I sell out of stock?
A. Contact Autism Queensland and another batch will be sent to you.
Q. When do I need to return the funds raised and any unsold merchandise?
A. Please ensure all of the funds raised and any unsold merchandise are returned to Autism Queensland by 30 June 2012. Return of any unsold merchandise will be at the cost of the school, business or community group.
Q: Where can I deposit funds on behalf of Autism Queensland?
A: Please deposit all funds raised from hosting a Go Blue for Autism day or selling merchandise into our Autism Queensland bank account at Westpac. Details as follows:
