Become a Member of Autism Queensland

Autism Queensland Inc  is an independent, non-sectarian organisation administered by a Board of Management.  Membership of Autism Queensland is open to anyone aged 18 years or over.  Financial membership of Autism Queensland entitles the member to vote at the AGM and to stand for election to the Board of Management. Membership is renewed annually, with payment of the appropriate membership fee.

There are three classes of members:

(1) Ordinary Members: including Family Membership – entitling the family to two (2) votes at all general meetings of the Association and counted as two members; Individual Membership – entitling the member to a single vote at all general meetings of the Association; Concessional Membership – open to a person in receipt of a Centrelink Pension or Carer Payment (excluding Carer’s Allowance) entitling the member to a single vote at all general meetings of the Association; and Organisational Membership – open to schools, corporations and other community organisations, entitling the Organisation to a single vote at all general meetings of the Association.
(2) Life Members: entitled to a single vote at all general meetings of the Association.
(3) Honorary Life Membership: entitled to a single vote at all general meetings of the Association.
 

Membership fees are $55.00 for Single Membership or $65.00 for Family Membership.

Organisational Membership:

Is open to schools, corporations and other community organisations, entitling the organisation to one vote at the Annual General Meeting. The Organisational Membership fee is $110.

Life Members:

Life Membership is awarded to any person not being a corporation who has given to Autism Queensland in any single payment of $20,000 or more, or for single payments as determined by Autism Queensland in general meeting.  Any corporation which has given to the Association any single payment of $100,000 or for single payments determined by Autism Queensland in general meeting shall be eligible for admission as a Life Member. Life Members are entitled to two votes per membership. 

Honorary Life Membership:

Honorary Life Membership is awarded to any person who has rendered outstanding professional or other services to or on behalf of the Association. Honorary Life Members are entitled to one vote per membership. The number of Honorary Life Members at any one time must not exceed twenty (20).

Please note, becoming a member does not automatically register you or your child as a client of Autism Queensland.
