Early AQtion Centre-Based Group Programs

These programs deliver a transdisciplinary, autism-specific curriculum in a small group setting for up to six children.

Each program is provided by a team consisting of a teacher, a speech pathologist, an occupational therapist, a family support worker and two teacher aides.

Children attend either two or four days per week (dependent on their individual needs) for 12 to 18 months.

The programs address areas such as communication skills, sensory processing issues, behavioural difficulties, fine and gross motor development, daily living skills, play and neuro-cognitive skills.

Staff visit the child’s home and/or other early childhood setting on days the child is not attending the centre.

Although subsidised by Department of Communities – Disability and Community Care Services, EarlyAQtion Programs will incur a fee to cover the remaining costs. These fees may in turn be covered in full or partially by the Helping Children With Autism (HCWA) Early Intervention Funds.

Please go to www.fahcsia.gov.au for further information about the HCWA Initiatives or contact your local Autism Advisor.

(Please note: children attend for only two days in Brisbane. The programs are delivered at Sunnybank Hills and Brighton.)

Programs for older children (ie. Prep and School Programs) are also available at the Sunnybank and Brighton campuses.
