Early Intervention Group Placement - Brisbane

Autism Queensland runs two Early Intervention groups in the Brisbane Metropolitan area (Sunnybank Hills and Brighton). Shortly, we will also be conducting Early Intervention Groups in Rockhampton and Cairns.

The programs in Brisbane run for one year and comprises a 2-day per week attendance at either the Sunnybank Hills or Brighton campus. Autism Queensland staff also make regular visits to each child’s home and other educational settings (eg. SEDU, child care centre, preschool).

The program integrates a formal developmental and educational curriculum and addresses communication skills, social and play skills, behaviour, sensory processing issues, and self-care skills. All children receive weekly speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and a psychologist is also available as required.

Families receive information to support their understanding of ASD, as well as providing them with a variety of activities to foster their child's development at home.
