Airtrain – The fastest and most economical way to transfer from the Airport to the Brisbane CBD is on the Airtrain. Airtrain services depart every 30 minutes from approximately 6am to 7pm every day and stop at five city stations. It takes approximately 24 minutes to travel via Airtrain to South Brisbane station, which is located alongside the Exhibition Centre. Taxi – At Brisbane’s Domestic Terminal, taxi ranks are located at both the Qantas and Virgin Blue ends of the terminal. The taxi rank at the Brisbane International Terminal is located on Arrivals level 2.
Hire car – Having your own means of transport is a great way to get around the city and also enjoy the many attractions on our doorstep. In the International Terminal the car rental customer service desks are located on level 2 and in the Domestic Terminal on ground level.
South Bank
was formerly the site of World Expo '88 and is now a hub for recreation, cultural activities, entertainment, educational programs and dining.
Attractions include a man-made beach, restaurants, barbecue and picnic areas and a cinema complex. Local arts and crafts can be found at the South Bank Crafts Village Market on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays. South Bank also hosts many festivals throughout the year, such as firework displays, concerts, fun runs and Christmas celebrations.
Further up the river is Brisbane's cultural precinct, which includes the Queensland Art Gallery, the Queensland Museum, the State Library of Queensland

The Queensland Maritime Museum
is just a short walk along the boardwalk down river from South Bank. The museum exhibits and preserves Queensland's abundant maritime heritage. It also contains the South Brisbane Graving Dock, which was Brisbane's main ship repair facility from 1881 to 1944. It is now home to the Diamantina, which was a World War II Australian warship.
You can take a short bus trip from Melbourne Street (under the railway overpass) to West End, where you can enjoy culinary delights from many different cultures.
